Deeds of Comrade Li Jiwu in Poverty Alleviation Work
Comrade Li Jiwu has always held himself to the standards of a Communist Party member. While achieving personal prosperity, he has never forgotten his hometown, and has consistently pursued social benefit, job creation, and the well-being of the people in Bozhou as his lifelong aspiration. Born and raised in a rural farming family, Li Jiwu understands the hardships faced by farmers. Since establishing his company, he has actively recruited farmers from surrounding areas of Qiaocheng District, significantly increasing their income and markedly improving their living standards. During this period, he donated more than 200,000 yuan to support the construction of over 10 kilometers of rural “village-to-village” roads, and has assisted college graduates in starting businesses and helped several elderly people living alone without family support.
In recent years, Li Jiwu has proactively responded to the Party’s call for poverty alleviation, actively participated in assistance work, and attached great importance to the campaign against poverty. In 2017, in accordance with the requirements of the Bozhou Municipal Party Committee and Municipal People’s Government on targeted poverty alleviation, he established assistance partnerships with two impoverished households: the Liu Lili household in Daliuzhuang, Xiguan Village, Shihe Town, Qiaocheng District, which fell into poverty due to disability (mental disorder); and the Liu Chuanwen household in Xiaoliuzhuang, which fell into poverty due to old age and lack of labor capacity.
Standing at a high political level, Li Jiwu took the initiative to contact local village-stationed cadres, carefully analyzed the causes of poverty for the two households, and formulated precise assistance measures. He strictly implemented eight measures, ensured that policy publicity and poverty-alleviation work were never carried out as mere formalities, provided assistance with sincerity, and delivered warmth with care. He conducted regular visits, maintained frequent telephone communication, and engaged in heartfelt conversations with those in difficulty, truly regarding the two households as his own “poor relatives.” He provided practical economic assistance to address their difficulties, covering daily necessities such as rice, flour, and cooking oil; clothing including sportswear and summer clothes; health-care products; financial support; and assistance in applying for and implementing poverty-relief policies. Through two years of sustained efforts, both households achieved the goals of “two assurances and three guarantees” and successfully escaped poverty.
As an entrepreneur and a Communist Party member, Li Jiwu has given full play to the exemplary and pioneering role of Party members while developing his enterprise. He has conscientiously fulfilled corporate social responsibility, made full use of the company’s resource advantages, responded to the Party’s call, and actively devoted himself to poverty-alleviation work. In doing so, he has truly become a leading figure in targeted poverty alleviation, set a benchmark for enterprise-led poverty relief, and made a positive contribution to building a harmonious society.
